The Role  

Our client is an innovative technology firm where they focus on a variety of cutting-edge technologies. Various revolutionary technology projects help to build a safer, happier and more sustainable world. We are looking for an Automotive Connectivity Test Engineer in the Automotive industry to be part of our client’s journey in Tokyo.    

Responsibilities  

  • In charge of Connectivity and V2X testing on test benches and in test cars for an Automotive OEM in Japan durign the whole Verification & Validation cycle of several projects  
  • Software installation/update and calibration of vehicle infotainment and communication modules  
  • Preparation and configuration of test environments, and ensuring test readiness  
  • Test case creation and/or update based on feature list and specifications  
  • Execution of all Connectivity and V2X test cases  
  • Record of test results, investigation of the founded issues using vehicle diagnosis and log/trace tools, and ticket creation on system  
  • Communication with Test manager and with development teams, for issue investigation, solving and verification of fixes 

   

Profile  

Mandatory  

  •  
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Vehicle Connectivity Testing and/or V2X Testing for Automotive OEM 
  • Knowledge in Vehicle Infotainment/Navigation functions and testing 
  • Knowledge of vehicle architecture and components  
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering and in Vehicle Electric and Electronic technology  
  • Experience in using Vehicle Diagnosis and Testing Tools 
  • Experience in using Vehicle Data Loggers (e.g. BluePirat, TTTech-DataLogger) 
  • Experience in troubleshooting and eroor investigation, including analysis of communication logs 
  • Familiar with JIRA and Confluence for ticketing and documentation management 
  • Ability to track and report the progress of assigned work packages 
  • Experience and understanding of Software testing and testing process 
  • Experience in Test case creation and edition 
  • Bilingual English (Business Level) and Japanese including Writing, Listening, Speaking and Reading. 

Preferred  

  • ISQTB or JSTQB certification 
  • Advanced knowledge in Connectivity and V2X technologies, and in communication systems and functions, including  mobile network infra (4G/LTE and 5G) and related mechanisms (VoLTE, etc.) 
  • Experience in Vehicle Infotainment/Navigation testing 
  • System integration experience in Vehicle Infotainment and/or Vehicle Connectivity area 
  • Familiar with test bench building up, HIL/Automation 
  • Knowledge and experience in Software development 
  • Knowledge of software update mechanism. Understanding of version dependencies 
  • Knowledge of Automotive Android OS and familiar with Linux and Android commands 
  • Back-end and Microsoft Azure experience 
  • Programming skills of Java/C++/C/Python
