Pay Range: $19.74hr. - $24.67/hr.

Workdays & Hours: This is a full-time position working at least 40 hours per week with benefits; possible 4-day, 10-hour standard schedules include: Monday-Thursday (6:15am to 4:45pm) or Tuesday-Friday (6:15am – 4:45pm). On occasion, schedules may include holidays, inclement weather days, and weekends. Saturday and/or Sunday schedules may be included based on demand and special needs.

An Equipment Operator job is available with The City of Fort Worth Environmental Services Department/Solid Waste Illegal Dump Division. This position will be responsible for the litter control operations to include illegal dumping, litter abatement and related efforts. The Environmental Department operates critical programs that continually serves to managing environmental quality, garbage, recycling and waste reduction services for the residents of Fort Worth. This position is intended to directly support in illegal dumping and litter abatement goals within the City of Fort Worth. This contributes to the City’s vision of the “most livable and best managed city in the country”.

Working Conditions

Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.

Heavy Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
