About the Position

The Golden State Valkyries are looking for a high energy and dedicated individual to be our Head Equipment Manager. This position will be directly involved in the scheduling, organizing, and logistics of the Home/Visiting team’s basketball campuses and will report to the of the Vice President, Basketball Operations.

This is a full-time position based onsite in Oakland with regular time spent in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all equipment for Oakland and San Francisco campuses
  • Order athletic equipment and apparel for Valkyries athletes and Basketball Operations staff
  • Oversee inventory of athletic apparel and equipment; distribute to departments
  • Place orders and successfully budget team allotments on Nike Gameday Site
  • Manage team fuel bars for both campuses
  • Fit players and staff with proper size of equipment and uniforms
  • Co- manage the Basketball Operations Coordinator
  • Serves as the main point of contact while at Visiting Team’s campus; liaise between Visiting Team to Chase Center and Golden State Valkyries
  • Oversee physical condition of Visiting Team’s Campus by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
  • Manage and source practice players; create schedule and availability for practices and shoot arounds
  • Supervise team attendants for home games
  • Schedule, manage and approves timecards for visiting team attendants and Ball Persons
  • Implement controls to capture various equipment inventory levels
  • Manages transportation requests as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years handling basketball equipment for a collegiate or professional basketball team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service and resolution skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative and provide creative solutions independently
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment

Time Commitment

  • Available to work overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays as required

Compensation

  • $85,000 - 95,000 + Bonus
