DESCRIPTION: The EHS Manager is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Director of Compliance, the EHS Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive programs and policies ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

This is a rare invitation to join a small, highly professional entrepreneurial group, with the backing of the most established player in the fast-growing crypto space.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize risks and optimize health and safety practices across all operations. Strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of relevant regulations, and a proven track record of driving continuous improvement in EHS performance are essential for success in this role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: (List primary responsibilities in order of most importance)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and policies tailored to the unique needs of a data center and back-office environment.
  • Conduct regular on-site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, including OSHA, EPA, state and local regulations.
  • Manage a team in a matrix environment by identifying, training and assigning site personnel to comply and execute site level requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to management and employees on EHS matters, including training programs, emergency response procedures, and incident investigation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into facility design, equipment procurement, and operational processes, aiming to enhance employee health and safety.

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications in order to qualify for the role)

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • A strong, proven understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and standards set forth by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
  • Safety related certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), and First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing EHS programs.
  • Proficient in problem-solving techniques, conducting risk assessments, and developing and maintaining safety scorecards.
  • Demonstrated eagerness and enthusiasm to acquire new knowledge, skills, and experiences. The candidate should be open to learning from various sources, including mentors, team members, and independent research.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Travel requirements: Employee will travel to various locations, with most travel occurring in the first six months to conduct site assessments and periodically thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Commitment to Professional Development: A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in environmental health and safety is highly desirable. Participation in relevant conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs demonstrates a proactive approach to career advancement.
  • Fire Safety Certification
  • Experience working in a high voltage environment.

A range of compensation is provided for transparency, however different factors may affect this range. Some of these factors may include (but are not limited to) education, training, credentials, skills, geographic location, and experience. This range only includes base compensation and does not include other tangible benefits such as 401K match, bonuses, overtime pay, and other benefits.
Range of Compensation: $95,000 - $125,000/year
