We are looking for an Environmental Artist to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions!  This is your opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to delivering best in class service to our customers.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with both internal and external teams to create large-scale, photorealistic environments for a leading gaming franchise. You will contribute to the development of high-quality game assets, pushing the boundaries of racing game environments. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class team, working on cutting-edge projects that shape the future of gaming experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Create highly detailed terrain, vegetation, and track surface materials to develop top-tier track environments.
  • Review, modify, and finalize track assets throughout production to ensure quality and alignment with project standards.
  • Communicate production challenges to Environment Leadership, seeking feedback and providing updates as necessary.
  • Document asset specifications, best practices, and lessons learned during the development process.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of art assets.
  • Produce high-quality models, materials, and prototypes to support environment and track development.
  • Use set dressing and storytelling skills to enhance the visual and immersive quality of the environments.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in game development, including at least one shipped title for console or PC.
  • Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and level creation.
  • Proficiency in 3DS Max or similar 3D software.
  • Strong scene composition skills to enhance environment set dressing and storytelling.
  • Experience with terrain, vegetation, and material creation tools like Gaea, World Machine, ZBrush, Substance Designer, or Speedtree.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • A portfolio showcasing exceptional modeling, sculpting, material creation, and scene composition.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for art, innovation, and technology.
  • Experience working with both internal and external art teams.
  • Eagerness to learn new tools and processes, as well as mentor others.

Salary Range

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $70,000 to $85,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
