In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

The Environmental Air Professional will lead exhaust monitoring efforts for the Environmental Operations team.

Specific Job Duties:

Work with co-workers and oversee vendors as necessary to enhance established processes.
Coordinate required emissions testing of POU and house abatement units to ensure compliance requirements are met.
Inventory management of emissions and leak check equipment.
Conduct field assignments such as compliance audits, regulatory inspections, on the job training, field parameter sampling, job hazard analysis, and risk assessments.
Track and complete root cause investigation of liquid accumulation in exhaust systems throughout the site.
Complete required opacity checks of boilers and other infrastructure units throughout the site.
Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate environmental operational risk points with the goal of generating a safer work and more efficient workplace.
Collaborate with other departments on project coordination including step plan review, pre-task plans, work grading and job walks. Oversee emergent project work requiring environmental operational support.
Support other areas within EH&S to maintain business continuity.
Complete required routine leak detection and recovery checks of over 1500 components located throughout the site.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

2+ years of experience in Environmental/Scientific/Chemical Field/Industry.
GED/High School required, Associate's of Science or higher in Environmental or other related field preferred.
40 hr. HAZWOPER, Method 21/LDAR, Stormwater Inspector, and/or RCRA Training preferred.
Industry & regulatory experience with air, water, and/or waste is preferred.
Skilled with troubleshooting Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) equipment highly desired

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

Measuring Destruction or Removal Efficiency (DRE) of Fluorinated Greenhouse Gas Abatement Equipment
Experience with performing stack testing
Experience using EPA approved methods for measuring destruction or removal efficiency (DRE) of Fluorinated GHG abatement equipment
Experience developing and leading projects.
Skillful in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft software programs.
The capability of being in the field the majority of scheduled work time.
