We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Environment and Release Manager to join our team. You will work on an advanced trading platform focused on commodities derivatives. It is designed to streamline electronic trading, pricing, and processing of exchange-traded derivatives, aligning with the company’s goals in commodities trading, especially as they pivot towards low-carbon fuel solutions. The program integrates multiple technology platforms and trading processes to meet the needs of a highly complex trading environment, supporting both internal business and customer decarbonization strategies
This role requires a strong background in release management within complex, high-demand environments. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic commodities trading sector, managing both technical and operational aspects of release processes in non-production and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Environment & Release Management: Fully accountable for coordinating and executing release activities in non-production and production environments, ensuring all code, updates, and improvements meet quality standards and are deployed on time.

Incident & Issue Resolution: Lead the resolution of environment issues, including application and infrastructure challenges. Own incidents through to resolution, providing clear status updates and contributing to post-incident reviews.

Cross-Team Coordination: Facilitate alignment across five development teams, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of environment usage, testing schedules, and release dates. Organize and run the weekly IT plan alignment call.

Continuous Improvement: Develop, streamline, and enhance release processes, supporting the setup of dashboards, alerts, and efficient processes in GitHub and related tools.

Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with IT and business stakeholders, ensuring all environment and release statuses are clearly conveyed.

Technical and Functional Support: This is a hands-on role, requiring both technical input for release process management and operational guidance for smooth workflow and stakeholder alignment.
Technical Requirements:

Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Source Control: Strong understanding of Git and Azure DevOps for version control, build, and deployment.

Cloud & Containerization: Experience with Azure Cloud Platform and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

CI/CD: Familiarity with GitHub, CI/CD tools, and source control concepts.
Business Skills:
- Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working closely with end customers, delivering clear and effective messaging.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively to meet deadlines in an Agile or Scrum environment.
- Minimum of 4 years of corporate IT experience in a similar field.
Operational Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to incident resolution.
- Ability to write clear, supportable code, leveraging comments, error codes, and automated testing.
- Skilled in post-event analysis, continually seeking improvement opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in commodities trading or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to manage environmental and release aspects in complex, multi-team programs.
Note: This position requires presence in the London office 3 days a week.
