We are seeking a highly experienced and credible CTO or technology leader to join our Consumer Packaged Goods & Diversified teams. As a trusted and credible representative, you will play a crucial role in addressing the needs of large customers considering a move to Shopify. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise, build trust, and guide customers through the transition process, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the benefits and downstream effects of adopting Shopify.
Responsibilities:
- Establish yourself as a trusted and credible advisor to CTOs/CIOs/Heads of Technology of prospective and existing customers
- Provide tailored guidance and insights to customers in either Consumer Goods or Diversified verticals, leveraging your deep understanding of industries that you are an expert in
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop industry-specific solutions and features that cater to the needs of customers
- Stay informed about the latest industry developments, consumer behavior, and market trends to provide strategic recommendations to customers
- Lead strategic discussions and provide thought leadership on the future of commerce
- Act as a liaison between customers and Shopify's product teams, advocating for features and enhancements that address the specific requirements of Consumer Goods or Diversified industries
- Build and maintain a network of industry contacts and thought leaders to stay connected with the pulse commerce
- Attend and represent Shopify effectively in curated moments, such as meetings, dinners, and experiences, to foster rapport and strengthen relationships with customers.
- Continuously gather feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement and drive the evolution of Shopify's offerings for enterprise merchants
- Contribute to thought leadership by sharing insights, writing blog posts, and speaking at industry conferences and events.
- Previous experience as a CTO (or equivalent) of a large retail business in Consumer Goods or Diversified Industries with significant e-commerce presence
- Strong technical background and deep understanding of both the business and technical aspects of e-commerce.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with enterprise-level clients.
- Experience in managing and scaling services for large customers in a repeatable manner.
- Familiarity with the challenges and considerations involved in transitioning to SaaS solutions and major re-platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, especially at the senior level.
- Demonstrated thought leadership and the ability to lead strategic discussions.
- Ability to travel and meet customers in person to establish and nurture relationships.
