We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Enterprise Applications Lead to join our collaborative and innovative information technology team. This role combines the technical expertise of a Colleague ERP Administrator with the comprehensive IT management responsibilities of a Lead. The Enterprise Applications Lead will engage directly with academic, administrative, and student services stakeholders.  This level of collaboration benefits from face-to-face interactions, which can lead to a deeper understanding of the nuanced requirements and challenges these users face. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a passion for higher education, Colleague ERP technical expertise, and experience in managing and supporting enterprise applications.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the comprehensive management, support, architecture, and enhancement of Prairie State College’s suite of applications and technological solutions.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the technology services team, campus departments, and external clients, facilitating effective solutions and integrations between Colleague and other campus systems.
  • Serve as Project Lead in collaboration with technology team resources supporting the campus in application integration and customization needs.
  • Supervise all aspects of Colleague maintenance, including managing production, test, and development environments, conducting weekly database optimizations, and implementing software patches and upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain technical architecture documentation and generate reports for business and leadership review.
  • Participate in and lead Colleague/Ellucian module project implementations, Unidata to SQL migrations, and oversee patching, cloning, and installation of base Colleague applications.
  • Develop specifications, programming/analysis, and/or testing using Colleague Studio, ensuring the integration, customization, and optimization of the Ellucian Colleague system across multiple client institutions.
  • Share knowledge and best practices, contributing to the continuous development of the CampusWorks team and fostering technological excellence at Prairie State College.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 to 6 years of experience at a higher education institution with a strong preference for candidates with 10+ years of Colleague and Higher Education experience.
  • Experience with installation and setup of Colleague Self-Service, WebAPI, and Ethos.
  • Programming experience, including scripting languages, Envision Basic, and Colleague Studio.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, Unidata, Oracle relational databases, and data migrations (ETL).
  • Demonstrated ability in project management and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in managing technical projects and teams, with a focus on enterprise application support and development.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic technology plans that align with institutional goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team across various practices.
