ActionAid Hellas is looking for a English Language Courses Facilitator for a short term assigmnent role in our Community Center at Kolonos.
The aim of the role is to facilitate English language courses for adults and children in ActionAid Hellas Community Centre according to the community development approach and contribute to proper networking and referral process for the beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate art-based/play-based English language courses for children and adolescents
- Design instruction and implementation of lesson plans and preparation of teaching material
- Assess different educational needs and form proper groups accordingly
- Provide beneficiaries with differentiated instruction according to their level of skills and experiences and facilitate tailor-made learning approaches, based on their needs
- Provide education support oriented into raising awareness and actions for SDGs, AA values and the neighbourhood
- Apply effective classroom management and conflict resolution strategies
- Apply equality in the classroom and provide students with proper support for a better learning experience
- Develop and enhance studying skills
- Show ability to design and implement projects on issues regarding human rights, global poverty, active citizenship, community building etc.
- Meet regularly with parents / guardians regarding students’ progress
- Act as an ActionAid Ambassador
- Ensure that the implementation of activities is absolutely aligned with ActionAid’s accountability principles
- Support other organization’s priority activities, when necessary
- Work effectively with other departments / directorates, manage issues with clarity and to ensure effective information flow and team working
Requirements
- Academic Degree in English language
- At least 2 years of working experience in a similar position/role
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and facilitating groups
- Strong interpersonal skills and organisational skills
- Analytical thinking
- Ability to work creatively in a problem-solving environment
- Excellent use (both oral & written) of Greek and English language
- Strong comprehension of human rights, international poverty, and development challenges.
