Since our entrance to Japanese Market in 2014, we were successfully partnered with some of the major logos in Advertising, Digital Contents, EC, Financial Service and Consumer products, that made us to transfer from the Japan Growth market to Prime segment just one year and nine months after our IPO in 2021.
What you’ll do
Responsibilities:
- Localisation and translation of Japanese ↔️ English (e.g., global releases, internal and external reporting materials, briefings to C-levels, website and areas related to corporate branding and communications, media articles, etc.) for the PR/ Corporate Communications Team in a global AI company
- Creating posts on social platforms related to PRs.
Required skills and experience:
- English and Japanese (sensitive to language and cultural nuances, able to understand the gaps and translate them into correct Japanese).
- Translation skills (at least 3 years): experience in translation and localisation or certification in the field.
- Experience working with multinational teams.
- Timeline management and progress tracking: ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
The kind of person we are looking for:
- Attention to detail: Able to work thoroughly in correct Japanese, without overlooking linguistic nuances and cultural differences, and to ensure that the content is free of errors or misleading expressions. The ability to write straightforward sentences while avoiding crass expressions in official documents.
- Possesses strong technology knowledge: Enable accurate communication of complex technical concepts in a culturally appropriate and easy-to-understand manner.
- Flexibility and autonomous problem-solving skills: Must adapt to language trends in the new AI market and be flexible to change work priorities and progress/change projects even when unexpected problems or challenges in the public relations area arise.
- Culturally sensitive: Not just a language translator, but someone who has a deep understanding of the cultural values and customs of the target content and the ability to adapt Japanese content accordingly.
Desired skills and experiences:
- Experience, knowledge, and interest in the AI or SaaS industry.
- An English TOEIC score of 900 or above is desirable.
- Experience studying or working outside Japan.
- Degree or related work experience in linguistics, translation studies, international relations, computer science, etc.
