SEWS – Farmington Hills, Michigan Office
Basic Purpose:
Engineering Technologist to support wire harness testing validation. Support is needed with CAD design of test fixtures in order to expedite the fixture build stage. This will aid the Wire Harness Group in meeting customer deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize SolidWorks to design test fixtures for wire harness bending tests and vibration tests.
- Is able to use power tool in order to fabricate and build test fixture.
- Work with engineers to understand test requires to optimize fixture CAD design.
- Support engineers in making technical documents, drawings, results summaries, reports, and work scheduling.
- Assist with equipment preventive maintenance (PM).
- Is able to read and understand 2D drawings/prints and 3D data.
- Develops detailed work procedures/instructions for CAD work.
- Is able to learn new tasks quickly.
- Possess good communication and teamwork skills.
- Work in a safe manner, maintain a safe work environment, and practice good housekeeping at all times.
Qualifications:
- CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, Inventor, CATIA) is a must.
- HS/GED Technical Certificate and 7 – 10 years experience required.
- Associates Degree or equivalent in Engineering/Engineering Technology is a plus.
