The Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting day-to-day tasks within the AHEAD Foundry Engineering group. The role is also solely responsible for tasks assigned by the Engineering Technician Manager or Product Engineer Manager, which will include activities such as providing a quote for services or products and creating part numbers within a company portal. Other activities may include creating and maintaining BOMs, reviewing Engineering Change Orders, triage production tickets and maintaining documentation for work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Requesting quotes from vendors and providing a formal estimate for products and services.
- Creating item and part numbers within AHEAD Foundry’s intranet system.
- Creating and maintaining Engineering work instructions.
- Executing performance/benchmark testing, and other activities as assigned.
- Provide production support as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Skills Required
- 4 years of experience creating and working with product and service quotes.
- 4+ years of experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
- 2 years of experience building and integrating computer components into systems.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- The ability to work closely with technical resources and other members of AHEAD staff.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
- Experience in engineering change process.
- Proven technical acuity and problem-solving abilities.
- An understanding of quality control and computer assembly methods.
- Basic understanding of computer architecture, and server hardware components.
- Proven experience in risk management.
- Proven experience in change management.
