Engineering Technical Manager
Job Summary and Functions: The Engineering and Technical Manager is responsible to overview and manage all engineering activities and staff within a department to confront and solves performance/operational topics to improve development efficiency, supervising and coordinating all activities related to the maintenance of the equipment.
- Must be able to demonstrate complex-solving skills with the ability to transfer that knowledge to supporting staff
- Mentor and train Technical Teams to standards available or develop, reinforce use of Tools.
- To ensure that company's equipmente and machinery are in optimal working condition in order to avoid interruptions in production and maximize operational efficiency.
- Work cross functionally within the Global Samtec Footprint to resolve Technical issues, share best practices and elevate known issues.
- Must follow up SOP and other procedures available to maintain Global consistency and/or identify opportunities to improve current ones or implement new ones as needed.
- Develop Project scopes and identify ROIs for all projects.
- Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring programs and projects, progress reports, and staff conferences to communicate upper management of current status of relevant initiatives and overall performance.
- Drive projects towards improvement in process output, capability and yield.
- Making sure the current systems for Maintenance and procedures are being used and Global Targets are being approached properly.
- Identifying technical training gaps and helping to develop and delivery training material to the technical leaders and technicians as required.
- Review and evaluate the PM programs. Work with the Technical Leaders to make the required improvements to the PM content and execution of the PM work instructions as required.
- Developing and implementing efficient maintenance policies and procedures.

Evaluate and improve Resources, Tools and Systems for proper Technical Support and evaluate the spare parts management to improve the systems of spare tooling and spare parts.
- Provide executive reports accordingly and based on projects and develop KPIs that best fit for Samtec.
- Managing the Staff according to HR requirement. Elevate discipline and career development paths through reviewing areas of success and improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience showing progressive/relevant functions to the role Graduate Engineer. (Post-graduate degree preferred) or related field.
- Minimum 3 years in Engineering Managing role (Demonstrable).
- Knowledgeable in the use of design/simulation tools (AutoCAD, Solid Works, ANSYS, etc.)
- Good understanding of statistical and reporting tools, data analysis, capacity models, ROI and business finance P&L.
- Lean Certification and/or PMI PMP certifications (Desired).
- ASQ CSSGB or CMQ /OE Certification (plus).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership function (team leader, project manager, etc.)
