Collaborative. Driven. Trustworthy.
We need your talent and expertise to help us do something great for over 100 million travellers: make booking stays and journeys more sustainable and straightforward. It involves technical challenges and the latest technology, but that’s ok by you – in fact, it’s exactly what you want!
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll build a successful team capable of creating robust, creative products. You'll support the team with your leadership and management skills. You’ll know all about building scalable systems using cloud technologies and will occasionally get involved with hands-on development.
This role is focused on leading a mobile engineering squad specialising in iOS and Android platforms. The team’s mission is to enhance developer productivity and satisfaction, with an emphasis on evolving tools and processes to support app development across Skyscanner.
Most roles at Skyscanner are available on a part-time or full-time basis. We work as a distributed team, but in squads of 6 to 12 engineers and using Agile/Lean methodologies. We don't need someone who is a master of all the details of Scrum or Kanban, but you will be able to support your team in establishing sustainable flow to deliver on their projects. You will need to work with colleagues in other teams and other subject areas together to make sure those projects turn into success for the company. Sometimes this will mean being able to break down shared goals across multiple teams in different locations. Sometimes it will involve influencing your peers' thinking. And sometimes it will mean helping ensure the success of others through mentoring and supporting, enabling them to thrive.
Skyscanner is a hybrid working company. We believe when people meet regularly in person, we are better able to innovate, learn, collaborate and inspire. We ask people to be in the office on average 8 days per month.
Already a global leader in travel, we want to elevate the way we work to a whole other level. In return, you’ll get meaningful things like medical insurance, headspace subscriptions, a home office allowance and the option to buy more holiday. You’ll have the opportunity to work from any country for 4 weeks a year, and 30 days in our other global offices. Everything, in other words, to help you relax and give your best.
