About the role

As the Engineering Manager - Infrastructure, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and optimization of our end to end infrastructure systems in our ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure initiatives with business objectives and drive continuous improvement in reliability, scalability, and performance.

What You will do

• Collaborate with the product and business team to understand the requirements, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance.

• Work closely with the core developer platform team ensuring new features are supported by runtime components

• Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers. Setup and improve processes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the team

• Define and implement best practices, standards, and processes for infrastructure design and development, deployment, and operations.

• Drive automation and efficiency through the adoption of DevOps practices.

• Collaborate with other teams to design and implement security measures to protect the company's data and infrastructure.

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of virtualization and cloud computing platforms, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.

• Manage network switches, load balancers, and firewalls to maintain high availability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure.

• Deploy and manage IDS/IPS systems to detect and respond to security threats in real-time, minimizing potential risks to our organization.

• Provide leadership in the implementation and management of Linux-based systems, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

• Implement and manage Security Information and Event Management tools to detect and respond to security incidents proactively.

• Oversee container systems, ensuring efficient deployment and management of containerized applications.

• Utilize security scanning tools to conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.

• Obtain and maintain governance, risk & compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.

• Manage data center operations, including physical security, power, cooling, and disaster recovery planning.

What you will need 

• 8+ years of experience in development, operating and maintaining complex and scalable production systems

• A seasoned manager with at least 4-5 years of experience in managing, & building high performance teams.

• Expertise in cloud preferably AWS or GCP

• Expert in infrastructure components and open-source technologies 

• Expert with Infrastructure as Code 

• Kubernetes CKA/CKAD certification is good to have

• Ability to document risks, security controls and evidence to ensure compliance. 

• Experience with security tools and technologies

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulations.

• Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance is a plus.

• Broad knowledge of programming languages, operating system principles, networking, security,storage, virtualization, and cloud computing.

• Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and containerization.

• Good to have Governance, risk & Compliance certifications ISO, HIPAA, PCI DSS/ISO, GDPR, SOC.
