We are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager II to join our Cloud Infrastructure team. In this role, you will lead a team of six engineers, focusing on building internal tools for incident management and infrastructure automation.
Where you'll work: This is a hybrid position and requires in-office collaboration twice per week in West Hollywood, California.
You will:
- Lead a team of 6 engineers to maintain existing and develop new tools to improve our incident management process and automation.
- Identify manual tasks and develop tools to automate them.
- Define and own platform objectives and key metrics, developing a strategic roadmap for your team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional/platform teams to execute the roadmap, delivering high-quality results promptly.
- Drive technical, design and product discussions with teams across the organization to define and scope requirements.
- Establish the technical direction for the team and lead the team to achieve it.
- Mentor and coach your team for career development.
- Recruit and assemble a world-class backend team.
You'll Need:
- 7+ years of professional experience building scalable backend services.
- 2+ year(s) of experience leading engineering teams.
- Experience with Python, Go, Javascript or a similar language.
- Cloud platform experience: AWS, GCP or Azure
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer or a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to inspire and motivate the team to exceed expectations.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
- Comfortable working with legacy code and implementing effective strategies for improvement.
- Ability to communicate and implement solutions-oriented improvement.
- Experience collaborating within a small team while working interdependently within a cross-functional organization.
