IDT is looking to bring an Engineering Manager to reinforce our technology management team with the mission to optimize our software platform and elevate the agility of our technology teams.
In this highly visible role that has direct access to C-level executives, you will build, manage and lead our world-class agile software engineering organization that is responsible for supporting a suite of products.
Boss Revolution: Calling App - The mobile application, which includes International Calling, Mobile Top-up, and Money Transfer services, supports IDT's mission of enabling people to keep in touch and share resources with family and friends worldwide.
You’ll be able to:
People Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of growth and development.
- Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and support career progression.
- Recruit, hire, and retain engineering talent.
Driving Initiatives:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and drive strategic initiatives.
- Manage the timelines for product objectives, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Encourage the adoption of new technologies and practices.
Technology Excellence:
- Uphold high standards in code quality, system design, and architectural decisions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Drive technical discussions and decision-making processes.
- You'll have an opportunity to work with the following technology stack: AWS, K8S, Terraform, Go, NoSql (Couchbase, MongoDB), Jenkins / ArgoCD.
Process Management:
- Implement and refine engineering processes to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
- Facilitate agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure alignment of engineering processes with company goals and objectives.
We’d ideally Like to See:
- At least 2 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary Agile development teams, preferably in a product setting.
- Technical practices such as continuous integration, automated testing, release management, and performance monitoring.
- You should be able to effectively prioritize and plan, and demonstrate the capability to work well under pressure and in ambiguous situations.
- Technological team leadership, planning and agreeing on engineering activities, and aligning product priorities with the Product Manager.
- MS in Computer Science (or an equivalent degree).
- Extensive experience in hiring and developing high-performing software engineers.
- Good level of English – B2 or higher.
