Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Data Lake Engineering Manager to lead our data lake initiatives and
ensure the efficient and secure management of our organization's data assets. The ideal candidate
will have a deep understanding of data lake concepts, hands-on experience with Parquet and
Iceberg table formats, and a proven track record of addressing data quality, performance, and
security challenges.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement data lake strategies and architectures that align with the
organization's business objectives.
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data ingestion
processes.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the data lake lifecycle.
Optimize data lake performance and efficiency through techniques like partitioning,
indexing, and query optimization.
Implement robust data security and governance measures to protect sensitive data.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their
data needs and requirements.
Mentor and guide a team of data engineers and analysts.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data lake management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on data lake technologies.
Hands-on experience with Parquet and Iceberg table formats.
Strong understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts.
Proficiency in data modeling, ETL, and data pipelines.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data lake services.
Knowledge of data security and governance best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with data lake analytics tools (e.g., Athena, Presto).
Knowledge of machine learning and AI frameworks.
Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Certifications in data engineering or cloud technologies.
