Intuition Machines uses AI/ML to build enterprise security products. We apply our research to systems that serve hundreds of millions of people, with a team distributed around the world. You are probably familiar with our best-known product, the hCaptcha security suite. Our approach is simple: low overhead, small teams, and rapid iteration.
As a Staff Engineering Manager you will be facilitating technical decision making, thinking critically about the system architecture, reviewing code and aiding in triage efforts in which the team is responsible for. You will also be responsible for the health and success of the team members you will be overseeing, along with the projects that fall upon your team to execute. This can include new features and updates that will directly impact the success of our products and services.
You will be working closely with product owners, stakeholders and developers to deliver on internal and external business requirements. Managing expectations for all parties involved, including prioritization amongst tasks and technical debt. You will also be ensuring that each solution implemented follows outlined processes and security measures to guarantee smooth and safe deployments for our staff, customers and users.
What will you do:
- Oversee and lead a team of engineers to execute on complex requirements from stakeholders both externally and internally, while ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining stability in production applications.
- Own large scale projects from end to end, working with team members to outline and architect solutions.
- Mentor and guide engineers to grow in skill and knowledge, allowing them to make the best decisions given the right tools and context.
- Improve our global engineering practice through brainstorming sessions, code reviews, unit testing and automation and on-call rotation.
- Deeply understand our product and business goals, staying up to date with both our innovations and the market.
You will gain knowledge and experience in:

What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 8 years of professional hands-on experience in software engineering, including frontend and backend development (Python).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
- Knowledge in cloud architecture that utilizes microservices and Kubernetes.
- Experienced in development with JavaScript (with React) and Python, with a deep technical background in either.
- Strong leadership skills that empower and empathize with their team members.
- Ability to manage projects, time, and all members involved in a process.
- Demonstrated expertise in product and service architecture and development.
Nice to Have:
- Serverless Architecture.
- Worked with Kafka, Redis and / or Clickhouse.
