To further our continued expansion, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to align to our direct-to-consumer business unit. You will be working with our talented team of engineers on our award-winning applications. This is a managerial role where you will be helping further develop an inspiring, dynamic workplace where teams are empowered to drive great customer experiences and business results.

A day in the Life…

  • Leading multiple squads of engineers building delightful experiences for our AJ Bell.
  • Working across the technology organisation to integrate with services and APIs that power our industry leading solutions.
  • Encourage continual improvement, engagement, and a growth mindset across the team.
  • Promote an environment where there is strong ethos of teamwork and accountability.
  • Create an inclusive culture, recognising all contributions and tackling issues directly in a positive manner.
  • Take responsibility for driving and implementing change within the organisation.
  • Translate business strategy into clear priorities and objectives with the teams
  • Collaborate with our Product leaders on roadmaps, features and enhancements for the future strategy.
  • Lead on performance, setting and driving high standards.
  • Ensure the team are aligned and delivering against business priorities from and evolving project backlog.
  • Understand the strategic direction outside of the aligned business unit to create value for the whole business.
  • Set, manage, and work with team members on agreed objectives.

Skills we would like you to have

  • Experience managing multiple teams in a fast paced, dynamic technology environment.
  • Strong background in engineering with previous development experience.
  • Strong focus and track record of delivering product led initiatives.
  • Hands on development experience in an enterprise setting.
  • Working knowledge and experience of Agile principles.
  • Ability to motivate, encourage and push improvement initiatives.
  • Comfortable having direct conversations, holding your team, peers and leaders accountable.
  • Pragmatism, you can prioritize, simplify, and drive a path towards results.

The nice to haves

  • Background in Financial Services, specifically Wealth Management.
  • Business relationships within the Wealth Management sector.
  • Understanding of financial markets and financial data.
