Engineering Manager, Ads Product (m / f / d)

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our new Europe-based Ads Product team. You'll work directly with the Head of Ads Product to build and manage a team of 5 engineers focused on delivering new advertising product opportunities. This is a unique chance to shape the direction of our advertising technology while collaborating across Rome2Rio and Omio teams.

Responsibilities:

• Build and lead a team of 5 engineers with a mix of senior and mid-level experience
• Take ownership of delivery and technical management, particularly for third-party ads platform integrations
• Drive engineering processes from planning to delivery while maintaining high-quality standards
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and other engineering teams across Rome2Rio (Melbourne) and Omio (Berlin)
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
• Balance backend and frontend development needs, with a focus on robust API integrations

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in engineering management
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing distributed/remote engineering teams
• Technical expertise in one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, Python, JavaScript, C++)
• Experience with advertising technology, adtech APIs, or platform integrations is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams
• A data-driven approach to decision making and problem solving
• Comfort working in a remote environment while building strong team culture
