The ‘Odds Tribe’ in Sportradar offers popular trading services, used by over 200 organizations worldwide. Our team of experts manage betting probabilities using our leading edge mathematical models. Our clients can control their own sportsbooks in web interfaces, configuring everything from event and odds creation to market monitoring and result confirmation.

THE CHALLENGE:   

  • Inspire and grow Software Engineers in your team and across the Odds Tribe 
  • Lead engineering consistency and alignment across the Odds Tribe 
  • Use ATDD/BDD techniques in your daily work 
  • Use AWS, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI 
  • Build high performance services/products on top of our real-time sports data collected 24/7 globally for more than 30 different sports.     
  • A real opportunity to influence the design and technology   
  • Become a domain expert in the exciting world of real-time hi-tech sports data   

Due to our success, we are continuously hiring motivated engineers in the Odds department. However, the current engineering leadership setup is not scaling well with our growth rate. Our solution is to expand the engineering leadership group with Engineering Leaders. 

This position includes line management of Software Engineers. 

YOUR PROFILE:   

You are a developer who leads by example, with a test-first and quality mindset. You enjoy collaborating with a diverse group of people, you are passionate about what you do, have a high interest in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise and you look at programming languages as tools and not constraints.  You see yourself as leader who nurtures our culture of collaboration, communication, and coordination between and within teams. We need our engineers to be versatile, capable of mentoring and enthusiastic about taking on new challenges as we continue to push technology forward. 

Your experience has given you the perspective to help Software Engineers prioritize their tasks, shape their career decisions, and face tricky challenges. You are curious about both technology and people. You acknowledge that the most complex problems are really people based. Besides of all of that you’re not afraid to go out of your comfort zone.  

Required: 

  • Being supportive to people around and finding joy in inspiring others 
  • A can-do attitude, taking pride in team’s work and an ability to keep up momentum  
  • Ability to find good in people and make them want to grow 
  • A problem-solving attitude, i.e. not just focused on writing code, but on tackling complex problems and determining how best to solve them 
  • A test-first mindset where your values are aligned with engineering quality practices 
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages, preferably Java and clean code/architecture principles 
  • A personal interest in keeping up with the general trends of software product development   
  • Good communication skills, must be fluent in English 
  • Worked in Agile development teams
