Co-op will be responsible to interact with all aspects of the plant maintenance and engineering function and to assist in identifying possible mechanical issues. The goal for this co-op is to grow the incumbent’s knowledge of Engineering / Maintenance and expand their knowledge in Manufacturing.
- Assist the Maintenance team & the Plant Engineers to improve process capabilities and reduce waste & injuries by modifying existing mechanical equipment.
- Search databases for the most cost-effective parts and supplies for the Maintenance and Engineering departments.
- Work with manufacturing associates to resolve mechanical issues and mechanical drawing issues.
- Work with Maintenance team on CMMS system to ensure tasks are written correctly.
- Gather data, develop and configure CAD layouts.
- Generate PowerPoint presentation slides for design reviews.
• Sophomore standing college/university courses working towards BS in Mechanical or Electrical or Industrial Engineering degree.
• 3.0 GPA
• Ability to work 40 hours per week in the summer
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic understanding of CAD systems
• Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Detail oriented
• Customer Service oriented
• Willing to learn new procedures and applications
• Able to work with minimal supervision
