IKEA Industry has global support functions supporting IKEA Industry factories. The global Engineering and Energy team within IKEA Industry Operational Excellence is recruiting a senior Engineer to continue to lead engineering & energy topics towards efficiency and growth. This is a global role that support all IKEA Industry factories globally. The purpose of the function is to:

  • Reduce operational costs and increase competitiveness, safety & production quality through engineering and innovation.
  • Ensure sustainable production by focusing on energy efficiency and on-site renewable energy generation.
  • Support IKEA Industry sites with guidance, competence & knowledge in the area of industrial engineering & energy by being a trusted partner.

    The assignment consists of leading specific engineering topics by creating tactical roadmaps and support the implementation at our factories.

    The role is not static, and the responsibilities can vary over time depending on business need. The nature of the role requires that you enjoy working proactively, independently and collaboratively.

    This is a position that covers both tactical development and hands-on project support where ideas are realised in an industrial environment. The responsibility includes owning and developing global IKEA Industry standards and manuals. The role includes collaboration with external subject matter experts and local factory representatives.

We are looking for a senior engineer who has a solid technical understanding in combination with a creative mindset and an openness to finding solutions to complex problems. You enjoy finding better ways of working, naturally curious, pragmatic in your behaviour and used to getting things done. You have a minimum of 10 years of working experience.

We believe that you are passionate and enthusiastic about developing the next generation of production plants in the area of Engineering & Energy and leading the change in a global manufacturing company.

We believe that you have a combination of the following knowledge and capabilities:

  • Experience from industrial manufacturing and infrastructure
  • Civil Engineering and industrial support systems knowledge and experience (e.g. HVAC, Ventilation, Electricity, Heating & Cooling)
  • Energy efficiency and on-site energy generation
  • Fire, explosion and ATEX safety
  • Project Management experience
  • Building and maintaining cross-cultural relationship
  • Good in verbal and written English
  • Working according to goal, scope, deliverables set in a timeframe and know how to prioritize and delegate
  • Networking and effective communication to impact, engage and negotiate with others
  • Firm, proactive and fact-based problem solver
  • Analytical and strategic ability, structured and organized
  • Capable of building trustful relations
