About the Opportunity
Our Peace Region Practice is looking to add 2 capable, enthusiastic Engineers-in-training to our growing consulting practice! As an EIT, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of engineering projects. We are currently looking to add an EIT to both our Civil and Water/Wastewater practices. For both positions, we’re searching for curious and solutions-focused individuals who want to build their careers alongside our team of established practitioners. The range of work will differ depending on the practice areas, projects, and clients each team works with, but there are core opportunities that you can expect to see with both the Civil and Water/Wastewater EIT positions. Do you see yourself excited to contribute to…
- Growing our consulting practice with a focus on servicing Peace Region Indigenous communities and local governments.
- Engaging with our clients to understand their unique challenges, working collaboratively as a team to explore solutions, and developing thoughtful and workable strategies for the design and implementation of municipal infrastructure, including transportation, water, wastewater, and storm systems.
- Building relationships with both local governments and Indigenous communities to better serve their engineering needs.
- Establishing relationships and acting as the client's representative on-site during construction to gather information, conduct inspections, and ensure that designs are built to specifications.
- Providing accurate and timely input on technical reports, plans, studies, proposals, and presentations that present information in a manner easily understood by a wide variety of audiences.
- Project management and budgeting, including securing funding through Indigenous Services Canada processes, developing scopes of work, coordinating sub-consultants, and learning about budgets.
- Learning water and sanitary system modelling and analysis using WaterCAD and PCSWMM.
- Reviewing drawings, reports, and other deliverables provided by clients, internal teams, and subconsultants.
- Preparing tender documents and drafting cost estimates.
- Developing strong trusting relationships internally to understand our service offerings and the team members you’ll be working with to build commitment to a culture built on trust.
In addition to these responsibilities, a Water/Wastewater EIT can expect to be a part of:
- Working on a range of water and wastewater projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, and collection and distribution systems.
- Working on design for facilities including equipment selection, facility layout and sizing, piping design, as well as preparing design briefs, reports, cost estimates, and contract documents.
About You
This opportunity is well suited for recent graduates from a civil or environmental engineering program, with up to 2 years of experience. Candidates must be eligible for registration with EGBC as an EIT. The core skills and attributes that will help you to succeed here include:

- You are willing and able to travel to project sites throughout the Peace Region.
- You possess a valid class 5 (or equivalent) drivers’ license for conducting site visits.
