In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Practice 6S in the office and fab. prioritizing safety as the number one priority. Actively seek opportunities to reduce safety risks in all procedures and daily operations. Assist all technicians with their daily workload and sustaining activities in the tab when necessary. Will develop and schedule recovery plans for known abnormalities and long tool downs. Work closely with Shift Supervisors to prioritize work activity in alignment with real-time business needs. Document daily tool activities and ensure that learning is captured and shared across the entire organization. Contribute to the knowledge base and facilitate knowledge transfer within the organization. Follow, improve, and develop work documents such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), recovery plans, task plans, troubleshooting guides, business process flows, etc. Actively drive operational efficiency improvements through the development and refinement of these documents. Maintain all required trainings and certifications up to date. Ensure compliance with training requirements and stay current with the necessary certifications. Manage and collaborate with vendor support. Align goals, develop a relationship of trust and reliability, coordinate tool work schedules, and identify opportunities for system improvements in collaboration with vendors. Develop project ideas aimed at cost reduction, particle reduction, tool downtime reduction, part lifetime extension, and efficiency improvements. Interact and collaborate with other departments on a range of projects, including improving device performance, finding solutions to process abnormalities, and performing risk mitigation of excursions. Actively engage in cross-functional collaboration to drive positive outcomes. Utilize Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts and LEAN tools to implement systematic solutions for the long-term prevention of issues. Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement sustainable solutions. Work to improve the operating efficiency of tools and increase availability for production. Analyze tool performance data and implement optimization strategies to maximize tool efficiency. Manage process qualifications for new devices and tool installs using our in-house control systems. Ensure that all necessary qualifications are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Manage and standardize tool sensors across all tools in similar toolsets. Ensure consistency and compatibility of sensor configurations to optimize tool performance and data collection. Analyze alarms/interlocks data to identify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues relating to degrading parts, vacuum leaks, power supplies, pneumatic interfaces, etc. Troubleshoot and resolve these issues to maintain tool functionality. Support manufacturing throughput goals as needed by controlling run-paths through manual prevention and release of tool recipes. Optimize tool efficiency while considering inventory management, tuning issues, parts availability, and other relevant factors.  (Multiple Openings)

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; and 24 months of experience in the job offered.

Requires 12 months of experience involving the following:                                                         
1.             Semiconductor fabrication techniques;
2.             Tool installation, New product Qualification, Process Improvement;
3.             Defect monitoring, characterization, and root cause analysis;
4.             Reviewing equipment designs;
5.             Developing and monitoring process and equipment parameters to improve quality;
6.             Statistical Process Control (SPC);
7.             Data Analysis; and
8.             Design of Experiments.
