In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Work as part of the Cost, Repairs, and Clean (CRC) Innovation team to help support cost savings through data collection, analysis, and collaborative improvements of Unit Part performance in cost reduction of raw materials, spare parts, repairs and maintenance, and other projects in the field of supply chain, cost, and resource efficiency. Participate and manage TFTs activities to improve cost savings factory wide. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, finance, support group, and executives to ensure compliance to external and internal cost savings standards. Lead the deployment of medium to large-scale projects that are cross-functional in nature and have visibility to company executives. Analyze and make recommendations to help improve cost savings indices for each department’s business processes and programs. Communicate the results of analysis, drive improvements and share with peers, managers, and executives. Determine opportunities and drive implementation with the unit parts, including 2nd source qual., lifetime extension, usage reduction, repair loops, and price negotiations, among others. Lead project management, daily, weekly and monthly Cost reporting, and status updates for business stakeholders. Enforce rules and systems based operation to all employees while ensuring SAS procedures are continuously evolving and current to meet the environments needs. Serve on teams that involve Cost Per Move (CPM) reduction, SCM, and other related projects and task forces to further the business purposes. Support improvements to modeling and forecasting performance of expenses. Lead or participate in Lean Macro project within assigned departments, as determined by business needs. Perform analysis and mentor unit part Engineers to perform analysis of Cost related items that identify key issues impacting factory performance as well as develop/implement plans/actions to close GAPs.  (Multiple Openings)

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 24 months in the Job offered or in a related occupation.

Requires 24 months of experience involving the following:
1.         Cost Management;
2.         Data Analysis; and
3.         Project Management.
