In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Specific Job Duties: Work closely with application and operations engineers and technicians to spread quality best-known methods to the department. Provide guidance and ownership for Quality related projects. Develop, manage and periodically report Quality KPIs and build dashboards for monitoring and improvement identification. Monitor and analyze quality process and equipment data to identify improvement opportunities and drive actions. Provide support to FAB in wafer disposition activities due to quality incidents. Lead failure analysis for both equipment and process related quality incidents using 8-D methodology with focus on Root Cause Analysis techniques and Corrective and Preventive Actions. To develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Engineering Specification when needed to ensure quality standards are met and improved. Assist in developing and maintaining Equipment and Process FMEAs periodically. Assist in external audits and lead internal audit programs to ensure quality and safety. Direct and provide oversight in quality for technicians and junior engineers. (Multiple Openings)

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required 

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

Requires 24 months of experience involving the following:
1.            Develop testing Methods;
2.            Process development;
3.            Sample testing: AQL (OBA);
4.            Quality Assurance;
5.            Tool calibration;
6.            FMEA;
7.            Structure problem solving;
8.            8D, Root cause analysis, Pareto analysis, statistical process control, Fishbone, 5Why;
9.            Test and verification plan creation;
10.          Continuous Quality Improvement;
11.          Lean Manufacturing, 5S; and
12.          MSA: Gage R&R, Calibration, Measurement methods.
