The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Energy Coordinator to become a valued member of our Central Engineering Team. As the successful candidate, you will play a crucial role in efficiently managing the operation of the Energy Centre and Mill Roll team.

This role will play a crucial role in supporting, implementing, and upholding safety practices that align with our high standards at Weetabix. As a responsible team member, you will ensure that all job duties are carried out in a way that promotes plant safety, food safety, exceptional quality, and environmental practices.

What you will do:

• Oversee the day-to-day Burton Latimer Energy Centre and CHP operation, this includes supporting our Corby Boiler House operation alongside the Corby Engineering Teams

• Ensure associated Energy Centre and CHP routine testing is completed to satisfy Legal obligations and Standard compliance

• Conduct thorough safety audits for the Energy Centre

• Liaise with contractors to coordinate both routine and ad hoc tasks necessary for the efficient operation of the Energy Centre

• Manage repairs and maintenance for the Energy Centre via Weetabix CMMS system (Mainsaver)

• Co-ordinate Mill Roll Crew, weekly activity and planning to ensure optimum mill availability

• Co-ordinate Mill Roll maintenance works with external contractors and the Weetabix Mill Roll team

• Provide call-out cover and occasional weekend cover

• Help to create and drive energy-saving initiatives alongside the Energy Systems Manager

• Manage Energy Metering Devices across the estate and report data for internal and external auditing purposes

Requirements

Qualifications are not always the be-all and end-all and we really value your wealth of experience, however for some roles that are governed by legislation we will ask for specific qualifications and achievements.

Must haves

  • Alignment to Weetabix values
  • Always curious to find new ways to do business!
  • Ability to demonstrate how you keep up to date in your field of expertise
  • BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme) qualified.
  • Engineering Qualification of kind – HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical/Energy
  • Boiler House and CHP operational experience
  • Experience in leading and orchestrating teams
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety procedures – Ideally IOSH/NEBOSH Certification
  • Highly motivated to achieve optimum results in both CHP operation and Energy performance

Nice to have

  • Experience in energy management
  • Diverse knowledge of various energy systems
  • Background of working in the food industry
