Endpoint Engineer

The Opportunity 

As a Software Developer on our Beyond Identity endpoint team, you’ll be instrumental in designing and optimizing our state-of-the-art endpoint technology. You will be working on cutting edge industry challenges, collaborating with Product Management and Customers to deliver real value, and working on a team that will have a significant impact on our business. The candidate must be results-oriented, must have the ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines. It’s expected that the candidate will have deep domain knowledge to participate in product strategy, design and implementation.  The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator, candid, a consensus-builder, approachable, relatable and inspire trust and confidence in others. The candidate must also be a people person who is able to make meaningful and long-lasting connections with others.

This position is hybrid and preference will be given to candidates in the New York, Dallas or Austin areas.

What You Can Expect to Do:

• Craft innovative, high-performance code for our endpoint software, ensuring seamless integration with Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux systems.
• Tune software for peak performance and minimal resource consumption, making sure our endpoint runs smoothly without compromising system efficiency.
• Develop and deploy cloud-based solutions, enhancing our endpoint’s capabilities through advanced cloud services and ensuring efficient cloud integration and management.
• Build and maintain cross-platform libraries that work on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux.
• Work effectively in a distributed, agile software development team.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including security analysts, cloud engineers, and product managers to deliver comprehensive security solutions.

What We Hope You’ll Bring:

• Proficiency in multiple languages such as Rust, Swift, C++, C#, or Go, with experience in system-level and backend development.
• Deep knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, or Linux internals, as our endpoint product needs to be compatible with multiple operating systems. 
• We will also provide an opportunity to become an expert at other platforms; we want candidates who are eager to take that opportunity.
• System level thinking that looks at the “big-picture”, and someone that enjoys working across multiple domains in pursuit of the desired outcome.
• Skills in optimizing code for performance, especially in scenarios where the endpoint needs to operate efficiently with minimal impact on system resources.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud services, including designing and managing scalable services.
• Platform software requires someone who emphasizes test automation from the onset of their design.
• Degree in computer science or similar field. An equivalent of the same in work experience is also acceptable for this position.

Pluses:

• Experience in building and maintaining cross-platform libraries that run on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux, ensuring consistent performance and functionality.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, with a background in security software or threat detection.
• Good understanding of modern CI/CD tools like Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience with authentication protocols and standards including OIDC, SCIM, ADFS, SAML, WSFED, LDAP, OAuth2.0.
• Experience with Trusted Platform Module (TPM) or Apple's Secure Enclave.
• An understanding of asymmetric key technology.
• Experience working at a startup.

Beyond Identity, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For Applicants in New York, NY, the salary range is $155,000 - $185,000 per year + equity + benefits. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. The salary range may differ in other states.
