ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks an Employment Specialist to provide employment-related services to newly arrived refugee clients, including job readiness training, assisting clients in obtaining employment, and exploring career advancement activities.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enroll clients into employment services.
- Complete and update grant program service plans to guide clients through goal-making and achieving economic self-sufficiency
- Create resumes for clients
- Coordinate transportation, interpretation, other logistics for job readiness activities such skills training, orientations, interviews, etc.
- Assist clients in preparing for obtaining driver permits and licenses
- Assist clients with job placements including completing applications, tax forms, background checks, and scheduling orientations and trainings
- Explore, develop, implement, or connect clients to career advancement activities, including but not limited to: English classes, vocational skills training, GED/HSED, re-credentialing services, etc.
- Coordinate job shadowing and other career exploration activities
- Case note and maintain case file forms
- Complete reports for grant programs
- Update and maintain databases and spreadsheets for reporting and tracking outcomes
- Participate in staff meetings, ongoing trainings, and other staff development opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to manage and execute several tasks at a time
- Ability to adapt in constantly changing work environment and independently problem solve
- Experience working cross-culturally
- Experience providing employment-related services such as job coaching, interview preparation, job placements, etc.
- Fluent in Arabic, Dari, Dinka, Kinyarwanda, Spanish, Swahili, or Ukrainian, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
