The Role:

Join the Upstream Rehabilitation team where your work makes a real impact! We are seeking an Employee Workers Compensation Specialist tomanage employee workers’ compensation claims nationwide. In this role, you will guide employees through the claims process from initial intake through resolution, ensuring full compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

You will play a critical role in supporting employees’ safe and timely return to work while partnering with leaders to help them meet operational needs. Thie position collaborates closely across the organization as well as with external vendors, state agencies, and legal counsel to achieve timely, fair and cost-effective outcomes. 

As an Employee Workers’ Compensation Specialist, you will be an essential contributor to Upstream’s mission, vision, and values: helping create a positive, informed, and supportive employee experience across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all reported worker’s compensation reported incident; respond to and process injury reports within 24 hours.
  • Monitor and track workers compensation claims, partnering closely with supervisors and adjusters to ensure all data is accurate, current and compliant. Support employees with leave cases connected to workers compensation.
  • Assist in administering benefit programs and leaves related to workers compensation cases.
  • Manage accurate and timely administration of benefits, from enrollment to COBRA, and maintain strong relationships with employees and benefits carriers.
  • Meet all required timeframes for notifications, payment approvals and reporting.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees, candidates, vendors and guests.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee information, including HIPAA-protected data, compensation details, and benefits records.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bring at least 3 years of experience in employee workers’ compensation.
  • Possess strong computer skills, including experience with web-based systems and data management tools.
  • Adapt easily to changing environments and shifting priorities.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Capable of balancing multiple tasks and deadlines with professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000/year

Estimated pay ranges listed above are based on several factors including but not limited to your pay class, experience, background and geographic location of the clinic

Benefits and eligibility are dependent on employment status and pay class (full-time, part-time, or PRN). Specific details will be provided during the hiring process.
