Position Summary:

The Employee Relations Talent Partner (ERTP) is a dedicated advocate for employee success, focusing on creating a supportive work environment that emphasizes retention, development, and well-being. In partnership with assigned campuses and departments, the ERTP supports employee relations, performance review coordination, engagement efforts, and ensures HR policies are applied fairly, transparently, and consistently. This role empowers leaders to address HR matters with a focus on employee advocacy. The ERTP also serves as a primary contact for HR inquiries and provides essential HRIS support and data analysis with a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy. This role reports to the Senior Director of Talent Strategic Initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Essential Job Functions:
  • Acts as the main point of contact for HR inquiries for assigned campuses/departments, providing accurate information and guidance to employees and leaders, reinforcing an open-door approach to HR support.
  • Supports leaders/managers in fostering engagement, conflict resolution, and career development to create an inclusive and supportive workplace.
  • Assists in the rollout of retention-focused initiatives, gathering and analyzing data to address factors impacting employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Coordinates with the Sr. Director of Talent Strategic Initiatives to manage annual performance reviews, ensuring resources support employee growth, development, and recognition.
  • Conducts investigations and monitors disciplinary practices and trends throughout the network and assigned campuses.
  • Collects and analyzes data related to the employee experience and life cycle, including HR metrics to identify trends and inform leadership decisions on employee retention and engagement.
  • Manages HR projects aimed at improving employee experience, engagement, and services, ensuring key stakeholders are regularly informed of progress.
  • Maintains knowledge of relevant labor laws and certification requirements to ensure HR policies are compliant and supportive of employee rights.

  • Other Job Functions:
  • Supports, analyzes, and informs onboarding, engagement, and performance management processes to ensure equity.
  • Engages in cross-training and support within the HR department, fostering a collaborative environment focused on employee-centered practices.
  • Completes other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organization skills – a detail-oriented approach to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong aptitude for data collection and analysis as well as ability to manage data platforms or portals
  • Ability to be agile and creative, with solid problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills both orally and in writing
  • Comfort and demonstrated ability to successfully facilitate and engage various size groups or audiences
  • Strong inter-personal skills and customer-service orientation
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work well independently, as well as with a team
  • Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize appropriately
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of six (6) years of relevant, full-time, progressively more responsible experience in Human Resources Management, HR Operations, HRIS, HR Compliance, or other relevant HR-focused area
  • Bachelor's degree in management (w/ concentration in HR), Business Administration (w/ concentration in HRM, Organizational Behavior, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, and/or Leadership), Psychology, or other related field, plus a minimum of two (2) years of experience
  • HRCI and/or SHRM certification strongly preferred
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational development, employee relations, and/or training and development
  • Working knowledge of Pennsylvania and New Jersey regulations and employment law strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with training design and delivery a plus
  • Experience in urban schools or other educational setting a plus

Physical/Environmental:

  • Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role as required, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as: traveling to network campuses; maneuvering in office spaces (including standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speaking loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away); stooping, kneeling, reaching file cabinets/shelves; fine finger and hand manipulation in use of computer, chalkboard, dry erase, &/or projectors; filing, faxing, scanning, coping, typing, mailing, and making phone calls; sitting for up to two (2) hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse, and typing.

Other Requirements:

  • Position requires local &/or regional travel to Mastery and other sites. Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle, or access to reliable transportation.
