Embedded Consultant - Program Manager - Specialized Threat Program

The Program Manager will provide services to the client’s Specialized Threat Program. The Program Manager will support the implementation of the client’s global strategy for specialized threat and incident management, including kidnapping-for-ransom and extortion, at the global and regional level, alongside project management and quality control duties. The Program Manager will be responsible for project management and quality control for the output of two other team members.

 

The Program Manager will focus on driving strategic objectives and deliverables for the client, ensuring that key stakeholders across business lines are supported. As a subject matter expert on global and regional security dynamics including extortive crime, the Program Manager will work closely with the client’s security and support teams to secure the company’s worldwide people and assets; providing security advice, training, incident response support, and threat assessment products. 

 

The Program Manager will embrace the concepts of continuous process improvement, innovation, and proactive security risk management. The Program Manager will need to be able to thrive in ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and embrace the company’s culture of relentless innovation and creative problem-solving.  

 

The ideal candidate will be able to operate independently and proactively in a highly matrixed corporate environment, possess strong analytical skills, and be an excellent oral and written communicator. They will have a history of taking high degree of ownership of issues and exceed performance expectations, to deliver high quality results and leverage technology and tools to do so. Customer focus is a core aspect of the role, and the ideal candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of managing a large and varied stakeholder network in pursuit of exceptional service and support.

Requirements

  • Embody the client’s values of professionalism, relentless improvement, high judgement, attention to detail, and focus on delivering for customers and stakeholders.
  • Be a recognized specialist and subject matter expert for awareness and readiness for extortive crime and kidnapping threats facing the client.
  • Leverage extensive knowledge of industry standards and best practices in compliance with applicable U.S. and International laws and regulations for program governance, mechanisms, and products delivered to the client. 
  • Proactively seek to understand customer needs across the enterprise and develop short-to-long term innovative solutions using technology, tools, and mechanisms to meet the needs.
  • Execute day-to-day project management including developing, delivering, tracking, and reporting on complex and ambiguous projects supporting the client’s global strategic ambitions and existing operations.
  • Provide quality control aligned with client’s requirements for products that serve a wide range of customers, and stakeholders with diverse needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, country, and regional business leaders to provide exceptional operational support services for sustainable long-term success.
  • Build collaborative, cross-functional partnerships (Human Resources, Legal, etc.) and meaningfully contribute to multi-disciplinary security efforts across the enterprise. Cultivate internal and external stakeholder networks through international travel and engagement, focused on mutual capacity-building and collaboration.
  • Develop and deliver highly detailed and comprehensive threat assessments on extortive crime trends and risk mitigation in collaboration with and tailored to relevant business partners and external vendors.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality training products, such as e-learning and threat awareness briefings in support of diverse security teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Support security teams and business leaders in operational response to security incidents while maintaining confidentiality and the highest standards of customer engagement.
  • Be able to coach and mentor other embedded consultants on this client’s contract for optimal productivity, and delivery of high-quality services and products. This also includes managing administrative responsibilities related to travel, leave or other related actions.
  • Identify opportunities to implement new tools, approaches, or techniques to enhance program effectiveness and meet or exceed future scalability objectives.
  • Attend training courses aligned with client’s preferred approaches, techniques, or methodologies.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned based on evolving client needs.  

Benefits

  • Master’s degree in business, psychology, criminology, law, international relations, or equivalent experience in a security-related field, such as investigations, crisis management, corporate security, intelligence, law enforcement, and/or security risk management
  • In-depth understanding of global security drivers, threat actors, and trends, in particular surrounding kidnapping-for-ransom (both criminal and militant) and extortion issues
  • Extensive experience producing threat and risk assessments based on a variety of intelligence sources, both proprietary and open source. Working knowledge of ISO31000-standard security management approaches desirable
  • Experience using data analytics and mapping software in security assessments and threat awareness
  • A proven history of building effective partnerships with internal and external cross-functional teams, including developing and leading training and subject matter expertise briefings
  • Experience managing projects in a regional or global security setting - private sector experience preferred – and tracking and reporting progress and deliverables in a structured and effective manner
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • An understanding of personal security and risk mitigation techniques when operating in and travelling to higher-risk geographies. Experience and understanding of complex/austere environment operations and associated challenges for multinational corporations
  • Demonstrated ability to identify security gaps and opportunities to develop appropriate mitigation recommendations and plans, from a multidisciplinary perspective
  • Regional language skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite. Proficiency at creating presentation materials and using case management software
  • Must be trainable to learn new approaches, techniques, and methodologies used by the client.
