What is the opportunity?

FutureLearn is seeking a proactive CRM Executive to join our dynamic marketing team. In this role, you will autonomously manage our CRM calendar, handle ad hoc and BAU emails, and ensure efficient workflows with the wider marketing team. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently to enhance user engagement through personalised communication and efficient email marketing processes.

We need someone who stays current with the latest marketing trends and technology, particularly AI. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about using AI in CRM and have experience leveraging AI tools. At FutureLearn, we aim to deliver highly personalised and relevant information to our users based on customer data, so deep experience in email content personalisation and journey builds is essential.

Your main responsibilities include managing the CRM calendar, setting up and monitoring automated journeys, and fostering strong relationships with the wider marketing team. You will also develop and implement strict workflows to streamline collaboration and ensure CRM campaigns align with our overall marketing strategy.

What does success look like?

  • Write engaging email copy that aligns with our brand voice and captures audience interest.
  • Manage the entire email campaign process, from briefing and sign-off to setup, testing, scheduling, and deployment.
  • Implement and oversee new automated journeys to meet channel KPIs, identifying and executing optimisation opportunities, including A/B testing.
  • Work with the creative team to ensure CRM campaigns are well-briefed and aligned with our marketing strategy. Write detailed briefs for website content creation and articles, and assist with email newsletter planning.
  • Regularly report on CRM performance, focusing on engagement metrics and providing accurate forecasts.
  • Identify and resolve any issues in CRM processes, developing efficient workflows and solutions to support CRM growth.
  • Support the CRM migration process by outlining technical actions and following a clear project roadmap.

What you bring to the table:

  • CRM Experience: 3+ years of CRM experience with a solid understanding of CRM platforms and email management at scale, including hands-on experience with Iterable, Salesforce Pardot or an equivalent EMS, Google Analytics, and Looker.
  • Email Marketing Expertise: Proven execution and understanding of email best practices, including A/B testing, and demonstrable experience in executing email marketing campaigns and optimising automated journeys.
  • Copywriting and Design Skills: Strong copywriting, design, and content creation skills, with the ability to manipulate images and familiarity with drag-and-drop email editors such as Beefree, as well as a basic understanding of HTML. Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance and optimise copy for better engagement and personalisation.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining strong relationships across different departments.
  • Organisational Skills: Good organisational, project management, research, and data analysis skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative and in a timely manner.
  • Lead Conversion Knowledge: Experience with enterprise-level lead conversion and communication processes, and knowledge of best practices for high-level lead conversion.
  • Brief Interpretation and Feedback: Ability to work confidently to a given brief, providing constructive feedback, filling gaps, and asking pertinent questions.
  • Personal Attributes: Highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, collaborative, detail-oriented, and flexible, with initiative and creativity.
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, extremely organised with experience balancing multiple projects, and using personal judgement and initiative to develop solutions to challenges and obstacles.
