Contribute to the development activities of the Hardware Engineering team. Undertake independent detailed electronic design tasks in collaboration with other members of the team. Support product sustaining activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electronic devices that achieve all defined product requirements (including unit cost targets).
- Careful consideration for Design for Manufacture / Assembly / Service.
- Ensure that development projects follow the defined New Product Development process and are driven to completion with a sense of urgency.
- Act with a sense of urgency in response to quality issues discovered in production or the field.
- Explore opportunities to add additional innovative features above and beyond those explicitly being requested, which can delight the customer.
- Where appropriate, ensure that electronic circuit designs leverage previous designs to save on development and validation effort as well as commonising on already stocked components.
- Work with Production Engineers to deploy newly designed products into the production line.
- Develop comprehensive user facing documentation (eg. Product User Manuals, Specification Sheets, Field Notices, etc.)
- Contribute to the Hardware Product Roadmaps.
- Support Field Application Engineers and Aftermarket Technicians with diagnostic procedures for root causing field issues relating to Hardware Products.
- Provide pre-sales assistance to Sales Personal and Field Application Engineers on possible solutions to customer requirements and pain points.
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
