The salary for this role is £67,023 (inclusive of a Market Premium Payment (MPP) £7,300), and onsite working is expected for 4 days each week.
This role can be based at can any of the following sites: Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact? Join us as the Electronics Design Team Leader and contribute to the future of fusion energy. In this role, you will lead the Electronics Design Team, driving the design, construction, and commissioning of electrical and electronic systems for UKAEA projects. You’ll manage and develop team capabilities, ensure clear communication of responsibilities, and support performance and career growth.
As a subject matter expert in electronics design (power systems, digital, analogue, programming, PCB layout), you’ll provide technical leadership, supportive management, and operational support for critical systems. You’ll also work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery of complex projects on time and within budget while adhering to UKAEA’s Technical Control System processes.You will contribute to UKAEA Electronics Design Standards.
This role requires strong expertise in electrical/electronics engineering, project management, and team motivation, making it ideal for an experienced engineering manager looking to shape the future of fusion energy.
You will have experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, the ability to create and assess/authorise comprehensive work packs, and expertise in technical writing, specifications, standards, and testing, we’d love to hear from you. You should also possess strong leadership and influencing skills, with the capability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels across the organisation.
