Join our Electronics Purchasing Category Management team as we are currently looking for experienced purchasers/buyers (m/f/d)
Within this role you will drive and shape current developments in the car industry:
Increasingly higher portion of electronic components in modern cars, big platforms and higher technical complexity are requiring new smart solutions.
As a Purchasing Organization we want to shape and drive these trends from a material perspective. In this context, Category buyers/Purchasers will play a key role by leading negotiations, develop strategies, making decisions and motivating others.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
- Build-up the EL market intelligence in China/ Asia, provide the most updated market situation and technology trend in China/Asia to support global strategy
- Filtering the potential semiconductor suppliers in China/Asia together with cross-functional team
- Understand the regional expectation of Business Areas in terms of Chip localization and define right strategy to support the business needs in a speed manner.
- Lead the localization activities together with cross functional partners, such as BA purchasing, Sales, R&D, Quality, to strengthen the competence of organization.
- Lead and steering China chip supplier management in conjunction with cross- functional partners, such as R&D, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain Management to select and develop the best suppliers and to establish an optimum supply chain model
- Performing annual price and contract negotiations with electronic component suppliers with validity of prices, terms and conditions for all Continental Automotive plants worldwide
- Implementing innovative negotiation concepts to create the basis for procurement success
- Supporting improvement programs with Suppliers and Business Areas (e.g. Design to Cost, Cost Down measures, introduction of new technologies, suppliers development, etc.)
- Compiling and presenting information related to sourcing process to management committees
- Strong team contribution by leading, collaborating with cross functional and multicultural teams in a highly active, fast paced environment across multiple time zones
Job requirements:
- Academic degree in Electronics Engineering, Business administration or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in Purchasing, R&D, Controlling or comparable
- Bilingual in English & Mandarin to liaise with Asia and Europe offices
- Entrepreneurship
- Strong Decision Making skills
- Preferable experience in Automotive industry or Semiconductor industry.
- Project management knowledge, strong attention to detail and agile result-oriented negotiation skills
- Eager to learn new skillsets and to develop personally.
- Strong team contributor, comfortable in collaborating with cross functional and multicultural teams in a highly active, fast paces environment across multiple time zones
Excellent presentation and written communication skills to various levels of the internal and suppliers organizations
