The Assembly Technician Role:

You will work with the Hardware and Products teams to maintain and expand the systems our teams rely on for and assembly. Your work will be critical in accelerating the pace at which our team works, and the quality of the products we bring to market by building and flying vehicles right in San Antonio.

This position is on-site in San Antonio, Texas. This Assembly Technician is an exempt, non-supervisory role reporting to the Director of Hardware.

Requirements

Qualifications You bring:

  • Associates Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware in aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics.
  • Demonstrated self-direction skills and ability to deliver electromechanical hardware, with examples.
  • Ability to read and write comprehensive technical documentation
  • Experience and ability to understand and translate electrical schematics
  • Experience suing testing instruments (power supplies, oscilloscope, digital multimeter)
  • Attention to details during assembly and generating and modifying assembly manuals and design packages
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) and using relevant tools
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards, specifications, and requirements.
  • Ability to operate independently, lead project initiatives related to product development / manufacturing, make decisions, influence outcomes, and drive tasks to successful completion.
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or hard science
  • PCBA fabrication experience including prior work with or setup/modification/monitoring SMT processes
  • Experience troubleshooting PCBs
  • Experiencing flying drones
  • Hands-on experience with R/C and/or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or other related control systems
  • Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus with electronics or mechanical assembly
  • Electronics manufacturing industry experience
  • Able to hand solder per J-STD and/or NASA-STD 8739.4
  • U.S. Military Veteran

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Work environment is within an office and light manufacturing setting
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 lbs; frequent walking/standing
  • Occasional domestic travel in support of customer, company and project objectives
  • Hands-on with hardware
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for periods of time
  • Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and other equipment with or without accommodations
  • Ability to maintain awareness during business hours
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and good command of the English language
  • Learns and memorizes routine tasks

Benefits

Compensation: $60,000-120,000
The salary range for this position is an estimate that considers various compensation factors. The actual salary offer may differ based on factors such as work experience, education, training, critical skills, and business needs. Hiring team reviews applications
