Electrical Manufacturing Engineer

We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical) to join our dynamic team at FORT. Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Leadership

  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for electrical systems and components, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, transitioning designs from prototype to full-scale production while embodying our "Build Together" ethos.
  • Analyze and improve existing processes to increase productivity, reduce costs, and align with engineering standards.
  • Develop and implement automation and control systems to streamline operations, solving problems with creativity and innovation.

Process Ownership

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems in manufacturing equipment and production lines, leveraging insights to solve problems confidently and efficiently.
  • Create detailed work instructions, process documentation, and training materials to ensure team alignment.
  • Specify and procure tools, equipment, and technology for electrical manufacturing processes while proactively seeking feedback to refine workflows.

Continuous Improvement & Quality

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for process-related quality issues, demonstrating introspection and adaptability.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements focusing on excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, reinforcing a culture of accountability and high-quality results.
  • Own all Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) locally and at contract manufacturer sites, ensuring rigorous quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in roles focused on electrical systems or components.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, control systems, and automation technologies.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Design Software (Altium experience is a plus).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a creative approach to challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and drive alignment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing test fixtures.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory compliance for electrical manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other process optimization tools.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to be onsite 100% of the time.
