Electrical Maintenance Production Coordinator

We’re looking for an Electrical Maintenance Production Coordinator who will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and planning of preventive maintenance, corrective repair, and replacement projects with a primary focus on electrical maintenance. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and the coordination of material, equipment, and personnel required for work orders and  projects in the repair and maintenance of facility electrical distribution systems. This position is in the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Department and may require you to work at Site 300 located in Tracy, California.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

You will

  • Provide highly advanced technical and administrative oversight and coordination of maintenance and construction projects.
  • Develop work packages in a computerized maintenance management system to include craft-specific work scope, task breakdowns, materials, and equipment required to perform work plan for maintenance and repair of facility electrical distribution systems, components, breakers, motors, meters, cranes, and battery systems using one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and panel locations.
  •  Identify issues and plan projects to solve problems and implement solutions for facility maintenance and replacement issues; ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, safety and health, LLNL, and Department of Energy requirements.
  • Create and review job packages for work requests received, to include all technical drawings needed for execution of maintenance by crafts; coordinate multiple jobs, maintenance schedules, and facility outages simultaneously, including identifying all necessary permits and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical, administrative, and managerial personnel including safety and security personnel, and external vendors to communicate specific work plan processes.
  • Schedule and lead scope development meetings and site walk-downs in accordance with directorate and Institutional policy. Conduct a weekly coordination meeting to provide updates on the status of upcoming preventative maintenance outages.
  • Review work requests for applicability of the Davis-Bacon (DB) Wage Determination Act and submit them to DB Office for final review/approval.
  • Serve as an Alternate Subcontract Technical Representative and/or Alternate Responsible Individual for various maintenance and repair subcontracts to include overseeing subcontractor's work to ensure safety, quality, and job completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering technology (e.g., electrical power distribution) or equivalent combination of education and extensive related experience in technology related to the design or maintenance of low voltage facility electrical distribution systems.
  • Extensive related experience in construction, facility management, maintenance, and operations, including maintenance management of breakers, motors, meters, cranes, and battery systems.
  • Highly advanced experience technical skills and knowledge of the planning of multiple projects, including maintenance/construction project coordination, planning/estimating, and inspecting.
  • Significant experience managing electrical circuit breaker maintenance and testing or other NFPA-related compliance programs.
  • Experience providing highly advanced technical and administrative oversight of Procured Work Services subcontracted work and providing direction to others.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of the types of equipment, materials, and methods used for repair and maintenance of conventional facility electrical distribution systems and maintenance procedures including scheduling, job estimating, and planning of tasks that could affect building activities and alternative courses of action.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of hazards often associated with maintenance job tasks and work areas with a focus on electrical-related hazards.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of the application of safety policies and procedures, and security regulations and significant experience interpreting highly complex technical performance/regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Highly advanced customer service and interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of scientific, technical, and administrative personnel.
  • Significant experience utilizing personal computers, software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and associated work control software to manage and track work orders.

Site 300

Site 300 is an experimental test site operated by LLNL.  Situated on 7,000 acres in rural foothills approximately six miles southwest of downtown Tracy and 15 miles southeast of Livermore, Site 300 hosts approximately 200 employees with expertise in such fields as engineering, chemistry, biology, and environmental restoration. Employees assigned to work at Site 300 may be exposed to the organism that causes San Joaquin Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis).

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.  If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.  Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
