Job Summary
We are looking for an Electrical In Charge Power Plant to join our team at Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. As an Electrical In Charge Power Plant, he/she will be accountable for the Operation & Maintenance of Power Plant down time and overseeing the design installation and supply of electrical system.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth operation of all Power Plant equipment through the implementation of a proactive maintenance strategy for the electrical equipment in the field.
- Establish competency and engineering standards to enhance the skills of staff members.
- Create a strategy for manpower planning.
- Prepare the annual expenditure budget for the relevant sections, analyze the variance (Budget vs. Actual), and implement an effective control system.
- Oversee resources and manage the entire electrical and maintenance project.
- Maintain the availability of standby equipment at all times and ensure the presence of critical spare parts for the equipment in their respective areas.
- Monitor unit performance to achieve key performance indicators.
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for both operation and maintenance.
- Ensure that the site operation function completes work on schedule.
- Maintain safety in all operation and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with the Process department, Sugar Mill, and Process Engineers to ensure seamless operations.
- Service and maintain power plant equipment during the off-crop period.
- Identify staff training needs and schedule regular training sessions.
Requirements
- Holding a minimum of a B-Tech/BE/BSc/HND in Electrical Engineering with a competency certificate.
- Holding a Certificate on Boiler Operating Engineers (BOE – preferred).
- Possessing COREN, NSE, or any related professional qualification.
- Having a minimum of 5/7 years of experience in any Power Plant. Bagasse Based Power plant experience will be an added advantage.
- Having hands-on experience in Travelling Grate Boiler with Bagasse as Fuel. The pressure rating of the Boiler shall be a minimum of 87 Bar.
- Having experience in Back Pressure & Condensing Turbines. Experience in Fuel / Ash Handling System.
- Being well-versed in Boiler / Turbine / HT & LT panels power distribution systems / DCS Automation Operation.
- Possessing basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
