The person in this role will be responsible for completing the Medium / High Voltage Electrical portion of projects in support of the Plant Capital and expense projects. He/ She will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development in the Electrical field. He/ She will also execute design studies, manage detailed design, follow procurement, and manage the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. He/ She will also secure delivery of As-Built documentation.
Responsibilities :
- Provide support to get technical project specifications from project leader and team.
- Provide support to get full detailed design packages from internal, or external engineering providers.
- Provide estimates and technical schedules for all phases of equipment additions, replacements, or upgrades.
- Provide backup support and training as needed to plant maintenance teams on new equipment or systems.
- Be integral part of Process and Plant groups to accomplish objectives and provide contractor management and direction as needed.
- Work with Purchasing to bid, and procure necessary parts and services.
- Be key point in schedule negotiations and working relations with Utility providers as needed.
- Participate as team member assigned to major capital projects and/or modifications from start to finish, including equipment reception, commissioning, and acceptance.
- Provide completed documentation and as-built drawing packages to the site team of the project
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
- Preferred 3-5 years in Medium and High Voltage applications
- Experience with electrical design standards and NEC regulations
- Experience with NFPA 70E standards and requirements.
- Experience with Project Management or Project Coordination preferred.
- Expected to travel up to 30%
- Strong communication skills and team involvement ability are essential.
Work Schedule:
Normal work hours 40 hrs/ week Monday – Friday, however occasional shifts in schedules can be made to provide coverage for project installations and start-ups requiring weekend or holiday coverage. Overtime work may be approved as needed but will not be typical. Work Plant Shutdowns as needed. This work almost always falls on weekends & Holidays. Work schedules will vary based on project need and assignment.
