Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and test critical hardware components of our humanoid.
Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual designs and conduct trade studies to support key design decisions
- Design and validate PCBAs for critical components of the Humanoid like power distribution boards, battery management systems, sensing boards, motor controllers or compute boards
- Contribute to the definition of our PCBA design and test process
- Support the review of design artifacts (schematics, layouts, bill of materials…) from your peers or external suppliers
- Support system integration and test activities by contributing to test execution and debugging
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of industry experience
- Solid EE fundamentals with hands-on experience designing, building, and testing PCBAs
- Mastery of Altium (or similar EDA tools) in both schematics and layout
- Mastery of power electronics (motor driver, switch mode power supplies…), digital electronics (MCU, FPGA, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C…), and analog electronics (filters, ADC/DAC…)
- Mastery of debugging HW issues. You know how to attack a problem, document, and come up with solutions quickly
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience using LTspice, Python, and Matlab
- Embedded programming of DSPs, microcontrollers, and FPGAs
- Experience with Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical CAD tools (Catia, SolidWorks…)
