Electrical Design Engineer*

Full-Time

As part of the TOMRA Recycling branch, you will collaborate with an international group of engineers from diverse disciplines. In this role, your primary responsibility will be the planning, development, and implementation of technical solutions for recycling sorting machines. You will have the opportunity to optimize existing machinery and design new machines, with a focus on electrical hardware and software.

Your tasks:

  • Develop and maintain electrical concepts for R&D and production jigs.
  • Select, qualify, and document new components such as coolers, heaters, and sensors for preventive maintenance purposes.
  • Conduct hardware planning, including component selection and circuit diagram development.
  • Create wiring diagrams using E-PLAN P8 and manage drawing versions independently according to given specifications.
  • Program PLCs using Siemens TIA Portal to meet specified requirements.
  • Plan and define data interfaces between PLCs, PCs, and other hardware components.
  • Handle "end of life" announcements, identify successor parts, and manage their integration.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a Certified Engineer qualification.
  • Experience in designing cabinets for products, component selection.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Fluent in English, with at least basic proficiency in German.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other TOMRA sites or customers' locations, both domestically and internationally.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using EPLAN Electric P8 (Pro Panel) for electrical design and documentation.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, with a strong understanding of industrial automation systems.
  • Experience in conducting product risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with various electrical standards and regulations.
