As an eFX Trader you will join the growing eFX & DA Trading team, which serves the bank’s electronic trading business as principal counterparty in OTC venues and CLOBs and as operator of SQX: Swissquote’s own cryptocurrency exchange.
As a team we:
- contribute to the bank’s commercial goals by managing the electronic risk book (proprietary internalization system)
- provision SPOT liquidity such that clients’ execution needs and the bank’s policies and regulatory requirements are sustainably met
- ensure a gainful network of trading counterparties
- ensure SQX serves as an attractive and compliant marketplace for clients and market-makers
- drive the bank’s ongoing investments in its proprietary trading and risk systems in collaboration with software engineers and IT
- drive the quantitative research initiatives relevant to our business scope
- ensure excellent product quality and participate in its continuous improvement
- facilitate new business initiatives in collaboration with various internal teams
You are expected to become a reliable and autonomous team member within reasonable timeframe, adding on the team’s capacity with respect to its day-to-day eFX duties. Specifically:
- Stay on top of our risk PnL and inventory and act according to procedures e.g. adjust system configuration
- Assess client flow, provision liquidity accordingly and be a reference point to Sales and other internal teams
- Assess sourced liquidity and act to optimize it e.g. proactively liaise with LPs, adjust systematic hedging configuration etc.
- Use internal analytical tools and your own quantitative capabilities to draw data-driven conclusions, suggest actions, deliver reporting
- Ensure that systems perform as expected and consult IT and software engineers when necessary
Your fellow Digital Assets Traders will be counting on you, as a positive team member, to be in position to act as their backup when needed.

- Previous trading experience in a sell-side electronic trading firm/bank is a strong plus
- In-depth understanding of relevant market microstructure aspects such as:
- the relationship between risk inventory, liquidity, spread, volatility, credit, volumes
- the resulting economics between liquidity providers and consumers
- Quantitative and coding skills applicable to large sets of financial tick-data is a strong plus
- Demonstrated passion for automation
- Able to multi-task under pressure while maintaining focus on accuracy
- Available to deliver on time
- Self-driven, intellectually curious, structured, attention to detail, team-oriented
- Excellent communication skills and able to develop relationships with interdisciplinary people
- Fluent in English
- Degree in a quantitative discipline from top ranked university
