World Relief offers group-based educational services which promote integration while fostering community networks and social support within newcomer communities. The Education Services Manager (ESM) will provide leadership and support for the education team members, who are providing group-based education through a variety of grants and funding streams. This position requires skills in leadership, program management, group facilitation, creating a supportive learning environment, and presenting materials in ways that are culturally relevant and accessible to all clients regardless of literacy levels.
Role & Responsibilities

Management and Administrative Duties:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of program guidelines and requirements for Preferred Communities (PC), PRIME, and any other funding grant agreements.
- Provide supervision, support and training for education team staff.
- Lead annual revision of the team’s strategic plan and the mission, vision and values of the organization and various departments. Share back with other managers, including volunteer and intern support needs to accomplish objectives.
- Track progress toward goals and objectives.
- Regularly review current needs and trends, conducting needs assessments as needed.
- Participate in required department and all-staff meetings.
- Lead education team meetings.
- Participate in required PC network meetings and trainings, including travel to annual national conference.
- Assist in drafting program reports and annual projections.
- Carry out HR functions for direct reports such as approving hours, time off, salary and job changes, performance reviews, participating in recruitment of new staff.
- Ensure compliance with funding steam requirements as well as policies and procedures through regular monitoring and evaluation and team leadership.
- Cultivate relationships with community networks. Collaborate with other staff who are also accessing such resources.
- Participate in other outreach and development activities.
Extended Cultural Orientation, English for Special Purposes & Workshops: The Manager may need to directly carry out some the following to support team members:
- Develop or adapt extended cultural orientation curriculum to meet local refugee and immigrant population needs.
- Facilitate classes and arrange logistics.
- Track supply needs to request supplies. Procurement of event items or supplies that are outside of office manager’s scope.
- Create an encouraging and supportive environment that fosters learning and encourages clients to work towards self-sufficiency.
- Schedule speakers from community organizations and support them in presenting culturally and linguistically relevant workshops and courses for participants with a range of education and literacy backgrounds.
- Prepare and distribute learning materials and supportive supplies to each client.
- Assist with client recruitment, eligibility screening, enrollment and documentation.
- Create and use assessment tools to monitor clients’ progress toward goals, including feedback after presentations and quarterly assessment.
- Support, train and coordinate with assigned volunteers and interns.
- This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.

Requirements
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Experience working cross culturally and with non-native English speakers
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in English as a Second Language, a relevant Educational degree, or other relevant degree and accompanying certification
- Experience in teaching or group facilitation 2+ years
- Leadership experience of 2+ years
- Experience applying organizational skills in a fluid and fast-paced environment
- Valid license, access to reliable vehicle and clean driving record
