Your future position..
Kpler is looking for an experienced dry bulk freight market analyst to join our Insight team. You will play a pivotal role in the development of the dry bulk Insight product as we expand our coverage into freight. While focused on freight and supply-side developments, this role will also include some study of dry commodity markets. You will be required to take the initiative in directing your own research and be confident in presenting your findings.
Your mission is to:
- Work closely with the rest of the dry bulk team and maritime-focused colleagues to support the development and expansion of our dry freight market coverage.
- Utilise Kpler and external data sources to produce market driven and independent analyses of current and projected trends within the dry shipping.
- Communicate this analysis through a variety of channels, including regular written reports, presentations, webinars, and client meetings.
- Use your market knowledge and experience to identify potential areas of future growth and development for our research.
- Work with Kpler engineers and product owners to enhance freight market data and tools.
- Aid sales and customer success teams by articulating the value of Kpler research to clients, prospects, and other external parties.
It will be a match if you are or have:
- At least 3 years’ experience analysing dry freight markets.
- A good understanding of seaborne dry bulk trade flows, key commercial players, and market pricing.
- Experience analysing fundamental supply and demand drivers of the dry freight market and have some knowledge of forecasting fleet development and vessel earnings.
- You are skilled at carrying out complex analysis across multiple datasets using appropriate tools.
- Strong track record of producing insightful written analysis and experience of presenting your findings to varied audiences.
- Fluent in English and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work and communicate in an international cross-cultural environment.
- High competency in using Excel. Experience of using SQL, Python, R or Tableau is a plus.
