Employee Responsibilities:
- Perform lab-scale downstream processing of vaccine products and process intermediates
- Prepare solutions/reagents and sample submissions to analytical partners
- Set-up process equipment for lab-scale experiments
- Maintain laboratory inventory of chemicals and consumables
- Maintain records and experimental results following good laboratory practices (GLP)
- Second-person review of experimental notebooks and technical documents
- Communication of scientific information through oral presentations and written documents
The Ideal Candidate would possess:
- Hands-on expertise with downstream unit operations (i.e. centrifugation, membrane filtration, chromatography, etc.) and process development for large molecules
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- Proven ability to work independently in hands-on laboratory setting
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
- Hands-on experience with pilot scale (50L+) downstream unit operations (e.g. centrifugation, membrane filtration such as TFF, NFF, UFDF, chromatography, etc.) and process development of large molecules
